maybe, it would be nice to go more than 100 miles without filling up. 3.2 comes out to almost 180 w/ .5 reserve.

Firstly, I apologize for the lateness of this reply. Unfortunately, we currently have no plans to make a fuel tank for this bike. As you mentioned, some people have been using our older tank and making some modifications to make it work. It is possible we might make something in the future, but there are no solid plans in place at this time. Sorry about that. Thanks for your email!

For you guys carrying fuel in your backpacks, you might want to consider picking up a couple aluminum fuel bottles that backpackers use. I know many of them are pretty small, but there are 1.5L bottles out there and maybe some larger ones.

I have been thinking of strapping the two that I have to some sort of rack on the rear fender using the holes left by the tool bag

They make bottles that are designed to carry fuel in. I can't think of the brand name right now, but I know Deej carries some and a couple of others were also using them. They came in a coule of different sizes.

MSR. You can pick them up at your local Wal-Mart.
