Default Grips

How do you guys mount new grips? Do you use glue or just push them on over the handlebars? My handlebars have cross hatches where the grips go so I would think they don't need glue but I'm not sure. Thanks.

Glue them on. I've never had mine move on me. But I heard that most of the MX riders use the wire too. It's a good idea, but then again most MX riders are not using hand guards which keep the grips from sliding off.

U can get special glue from the dealer or off ebay.

My left grip on the KLX is loose at the end of the bar...

When I started reassembling the yamaha, I bought some grip glue for it because I do not plan on using bark busters on it and I will most likely just replace the stock grips with something a little nicer and use the Renthal grip glue on them.

Weather stripping cement works well. You'll have to cut your grip off later when it's worn out, but wasn't the idea to get that sucker to stay on?

I would glue them for sure, definitely if you don't have guards. I just did mine and man the dealer glued the hell out of the stock grips. I took it in last year for that recall on the grips and I'm pretty sure they used some super glue. I had to grind it off with a dremel. especially that part on the throttle sleeve that has like a little lip where your index and thumb would be. Bastards

I use Protaper grip glue because it's a slimey version of CA (super glue). The slimey part helps them slide on easily. But act quickly because you only get 25 sec. to get them right.
