Gps for trails

I no longer carry a dedicated GPS in the woods, but I don't mount my phone on the bike either. I carry it in a pocket and check it only if needed. You need to keep battery life in mind, can't swap out AAs like on a Garmin but if you insist on having it visible during the ride you can wire power from the bike or use an external battery pack.

The maps... FAR superior IMO.

good idea to have a power socket for those long days...

Yea already got a cig lighter socket just for this reason wether it be for my phone or gps. Just got to fig out if i should just buy a gps unit or use my iphone. I know he iphone is capable and mine is waterproof now and dirt/dust proof so why not??

Finally was able to use my newly acquired garmin. It made my trail riding a lot better. No more wrong turns and no more getting lost. I can now go and ride deeper and farther with confidence. Great thanks for this forum.
