Default Got a 94 KLX 250 while lving Australia

So its been probably three years since my last post. I have a 2006 KLX 250 back home in Canada, which I love. I sold my 2006 WR450 and started using my KLX as my dirtbike. Always impressed to the offroad abilities of the KLX. I will probably get a 300cc big bore kit for my 2006 KLX when its time. Would love just a hint of more bottom end. I upgraded to a 2006 KTM 640 adv for more power, longer trips, more luggage space/weight, more passenger space, and did I say more power!

Now to the reason for my post. I'm living in Australia south of Sydney for a year or more. I was looking for a 400, 600, 650 or something I couldn't buy back in CDN, I ended up finding a sweet 94 KLX 250 on ebay Aus. It has 12,000km, rebuilt eng/trans, all the receipts, extra parts, full aftermarket exhaust, registration for a year and more, all for $1900! That's a good deal by Australia standards, bikes are 25-30% more in Aus than North America. Also registration is expensive and tricky to get in Aus so a bike regoed till mid 2010 is a big bonus. The previous owners had the full exhaust system, but no carb and airbox mods to match. I replaced the brakes, new sprockets (14/42), new left mirror and mount, fresk oil and coolant, windscreen, and headlight guard. Since I have lots of experience with my 2006 KLX I did the following upgrades:

1. remove snorkel
2. remove backfire screen
3. #40 pilot jet (2.25 turns out)
4. 132 main jet
5. N1TC needle jet (4th clip down)
6. drill slide
7. drill crankcase vent hole

And holy crap that opened her right up. Great power now, what a difference. Interesting, this Aus KLX has no batt and electric start so its 20lbs lighter than my 2006 CDN KLX and with the exhaust mod probably 25lbs lighter. Other than that its basically the same bike. I'm thinking before I go back to CDN I'm going to ship the full exhaust system, renthal bar, and sweet handle bar guards back to CDN. That's roughly $700 in sweet accessories I can use on my 2006 KLX in Canada. I'll have two aftermarket exhaust systems now and I'll replace the stock parts on the 94 KLX before I sell and leave Aus!

dam man, i paid $3250 for my 1999 klx 250. we have to go for a ride now. if you look at my sunny corner rider report from last weekend that will tell you a little bit of riding conditions around sydney.

what suburb are you based at, im in parramatta so that's easy to get to almost anywhere.

great riding spots around sydney are:

Zig Zag rail way, blue mountains 1.5hours
sunny corner/hill end, near bathhurst 2 hours
lidsdale , lithgow 1.85 hours
menai, menai probs 30mins from your house

ps, i thought that all aust models came out with the 132main... well adleast the 1999 does
