Default Good starter bike??

Just wondering what everyone thinks. My girlfriend wanted to get out on the trails with me so I bought her a 4 wheeler. She has had no experience with anything off road before. I got her a Honda 450 foreman which might of been a little to much for her because she is about 5 foot and about 100 pounds.
To my surprise she is a speed demon and fearless to the point she rolled the bike twice and is scaring the crap out of me.

Now she wants to try the dirtbike thing, with even less experience!! I am tempted to get her a little 80cc but that might be going to the extreem on the small size. Deffinetly will not get her a 2 stroke but what is a good starter bike for a chick? She cant even come close to touching the ground on my KLX 250.

Anyone go through this before?

The Honda CRF 230 and the Yamaha TTR 225 are pretty good starter bikes for someone her size.

Second the TTR. I was thinking you were asking about the KLX, I was going to mention the high seat along with tall gearing but guess have a handle on that.

I actually was going to get a TTR-230, the KLX was already street legal so I got that. The 230's are nice, but they are HEAVY!! Get her a TTR-125, CRF-150 or the KLX 140. I bought my wife a TTR-125 years ago and it was a blast even for me to ride, I am 5' 11" and 180#. It has plenty of power for some serious fun. Plus they are a lot lighter than their bigger brothers.

CRF 100-150 is a good start and alot less likely to get hurt on than a 4 wheeler.

Yep, two of the best for this category. There's also a great thread over on ADV that I can't find right now titiled something like, "We are short women and here's what we ride". It's got tons of info from many of the riding ladies from the Rockies forum who know what they're talking about. It's on the "Rockies" or "Thumpers" forum of ADV.

I will take a look at the adv site. I'm still stuck right now between going from the 100cc's to the 200cc class. As to what CMOTT426 was saying about the weight

I picked up an '04 crf150 for my boy to learn on, and the wife to try if she ever shows interest.
