I'm considering an '07 KLX250s, 2300 miles, all stock for $3500.
Is this a good price?

 

No it is not a good price you can buy a new one for approx $1400.00 more if you are in the USA and about $1800.00 CDN with that many miles I would start by offering $2200. as you Know this is a off-road bike Do you Know what kind of abuse or misuse that has been done to it. I REFUSE to buy USED. Usually you just buy someone elses headache!! Just my.02cents.. Good luck with the decision and welcome to the forum!!!

Well I think the above post was pretty one sided and you have to start from the line,'I never buy used'. That's great, but some of us do, and I can tell you from someone that looked for a good used KLX250 for about 5 weeks... you're NOT going to get a 2007 for $2,200 around here no matter the milage. I found an almost new one with only 589 miles on it up in north Georgia. The owneragreed to bring it about 100 miles closer to me for the meeting and it had one little place where his MX boot buckle scuffed the engine case. Other than that you'd not have known it had any miles on it. I think I got a super deal at $3,600 and am really pleased with the bike.

Shop around here, CraigsList and you might also look at CycleTrager and on Georgia Off Road in their Classifieds.

I have to agree with savageKen becuase i just bought my 09 for 15250, and thats the bike,taxes,title fee,and some safety gear

 

I see what he's saying about being another $1400 away from new. However, I don't mind buying used and as a second bike, used makes good sense for me.I just have no idea about used pricing on a 250 since I see so few of them used.

I'm still hung up on a 07 KLX250s for $3200-$3500 or an 01 DRZ400s for $2900.
I think the KLX is one of the best looking bikes out there, but I'm a little concerned about not having enough cc's. I would be using it for zipping around town and off roading. Nothing hardcore.

 

tConnell That was my opinion, I personally Have had so many issues buying used stuff that I do not anymore. expecially recreational vehicles. The only way I would buy a used bike is to rebuild it from the ground up as a project bike, I guess than it would be an old brand new bike!!!!

Have to weigh in with Connell here. Bought my '07 last Friday, 470 miles on the odo for $3,500 including a loading ramp and cover. Granted I bought it from a friend and know the history but why pay $1,400 more unless you absolutely have to have a brand new ride. Good luck trying to find a low milage '07 for less than 3K. Oh, and did I mention that the bike goes like a scalded dog?

 

I with tconnell. My 06 klx is the last bike I will ever buy new. I would offer $3200 mavbe just $3kand see what he says.....remember if you buy used you can fib on the bill of sale and pay less sales tax.

Make sure you like the plastics.....the stock plastic is way expensive. Besides that the bike is pretty bullet proof.

The question was "is it a good deal?" Not a debate on new vs used. My big question would be, "is there any warranty left?" and "is it transferrable?" My 07 would be a great deal at that price because I babied it, Broke it in right and always put Synthetic oil in it. It also looks brand new. Seriously, Look into the warranty aspect.
