Unless the KLX application is way different than the Sherpa, then yep, they are still stiff as hell.

It was still stiff enough with the half and half to be annoying. I like a light clutch pull, and it was very tiring even with the 1/2 and 1/2.

Just remember the outer most clutch plate is off set 15* degrees and sits in the end of the fingers of the clutch basket. Also that plate has the two thin rings (one angled one flat) that install inside that outer most clutch plate. I had to look at the manual twice to figure that one out. That is alot different from the 2 stroke clutches I was used to.

The EBC clutch springs feel soft but are doing the job so far. Wonder if the klx 300 springs are any stronger...klx400 maybe?

I don't know if you are doing this or not but, using automotive oil in your motorcycle will damage clutches. Motorcycle oils are more expensive but if the cost of a new clutch is figured in.... My 351 has the original clutch and going strong at this time.

are you soaking the clutch disks in oil before installation?

Not sure from the factory but I did before installing the EBC clutch plates.

I also read that I shouldn't be using Spectro synthetic oil, as its to slippery for the clutch.... who knows.

Yes, the clutches I install are pre-soaked.. And yes, I install them correctly.. This last one came from the stock bottom end I bought - so it was 100% definitely installed correctly.

Also, I use Valvoline 10/40 four stroke motorcycle oil and nothing else.

I don't know. Maybe I just run the crap out of my bike and eat through clutches faster?! Who knows.. But I know it's slipping, and needs to be replaced.

I just hope it comes soon, or at least for the weekend!! I can't have another weekend of riding a bike that can't even lift the front wheel in 3rd!!

So I found out my new clutch won't be here till next week... No Bueno!! I really wanted to ride tonight and this weekend.. So I went against my better judgement and added a washer on top of each clutch spring. Nothing thick, just a millimeter each or so.

When I pulled the springs they felt very soft.. I don't remember being able to compress them with my fingers so easily.. After I shimmed each spring, the clutch pull is way tighter. It feels real good.. I haven't given it a road test, that's tonight, but judging by the lever pull it should definitely clamp the discs tighter.

I'll report back to base on how it is on tonight's ride.
