I have been thinking about getting a KDX and just slapping some lights and blinkers on it. Then using the plate from my KLX.
Besides being illegal I really don't think the cops would even notice the difference. Any thoughts on this?

Sweet, make some sort of magnetic quick connects, so you can switch back and forth faster.

Doesn't KDxs all have headlight/tail light already? All you would need to add is blinkers, right? - and then - depending on your State laws, you could probably register it legally if you chose to do so. Motorcycles here in GA are exempt from emissions testing. Walk in with proof of ownership (Bill of Sale), pay the tag fees and they'll give you a plate.

Woah.. so can you put lights and blinkers on a KX 500 and get a plate for it? If so, I want to move.

FYI - in most states, swapping license plates from vehicle to vehicle is a felony, not a traffic violation.

Just thought you would like to know.

Not in Georgia. It's a traffic violation.

ntloser - yeah, as long as it has the necessary equipt for the street (headlights, tail lights, blinkers, footpegs, horn, and no handlebars more than 15" higher than the seat), it seems you can register it's VIN for a plate as long as you show proof of ownership and proof of insurance. It may have to be inspected by a LEO prior to that, but that's really no big deal here.

Hmmmmm a two stroke DS? Good luck keeping a low profile with the cops, and the 450? Not Bad, well all except the non trail tires.

LOL... In what state is it a two stoke street legal??

Nice fatty pipe expansion chamber!! I used to have one of those on my bike although I think that big dent in it will kill a few poneys of power...

That would NOT be legal in any state ride in.....
