Give me your thoughts Plz?
Im thinking about switching my engine oil up. Lucas 20-50 motorcycle oil. anyone use or know someone who uses the 20-50? or should I just stick with what it calls for.. I currently run valvoline but have been reading some bad news on that. and of course the KLX is a rattle box, dependable but non-theless a rattle box. (thank goodness for two bros.)

i run maxima syn blend and love it. i dont see any real need for 20w50 unless you going 3k between changes. lucas and maxima are probably both about the same, so its brand pride from there.

Engineers get paid alot of money to tell us what weight oil to use in motors... i never switch. As long as you change your oil when you are supposed to its not going to matter what brand it is...

Haha nah its a serious question, EMS is totally right but I was only curious because lucas at my store only offers 20-50 and vavoline atv oil. and alot of people praise the lucas around here but, KF people and regular people well lets just say, i trust riders of my bike then everyone else haha

I would never use lucas oil in anything, that stuff that looks like honey? Yeaaa, thats not going inside my motor.
My KLR650 burns oil so i tried using 20/50 instead of the 10/40 reccommended, and it started making all kinds of bad noises. Just changed the oil 2 nights ago and put the 10/40 back in. The only reason i have ever put thicker oil than reccommend by the manufacturer is when my '89 was burning oil. Always, always use whats called for. JMO, take it for what you what.

Just change it regular (and early if you beat on it) and it just doesn't matter.
Yes, you want to use a decent oil - but you're fine with any good quality oil. Rotella, Mobil 1, Quaker State, Castrol, blah blah blah - all good.
Change oil
Ride
