Default generic shifter

Anyone know a generic shifter that will fit a 2009? Seems all my "get offs" are on the left the shifter has taken the brunt of the damage. Usually I just clamp it in the bench vise and bend it back but its starting to crack (work hardened I assume). OEM is about 50 bucks! Since my riding style has regulated this part to expendable I'd like to not spend this much.
thanks

I've heard the XR650L shifter works. I used to have one, and I "eye-balled" it while it sat side-by-side with my 09 KLX250, and it sure looked like it had the same shape!

Now why didn't I find this..... Thanks, I'll check out the 650 shifter. If cheap enough I'll buy two and carry the second as a spare.

I like the idea. I can see where the snake will help prevent the levers bending outward or loosing them (brake and shifter) but my shifter keeps getting bent into the case. Don't think this will help.

The shift shaft is small and wimpy, I wouldn't put to tough a lever on there.
