Default gas mileage with tm36-68

I put the pumper back on after my back healed.. 65 mpg putzing around the island.. this is 10mpg better than I got with the cvk.. anyone get similar results?
seems like a no brainer, 10-15% more torque on the bottom end and midrange, 5mph increase on top speed, and 10 mpg increase with the tm36-68

I had to stiffen up the rear damping and tighten down the rear shock because of the torque from the tm36

lookin forward to that! could use some more torque at the bottom end on these bikes to get the front end up easier

57 to 62 mpg, average 60. This is with the 351 and tm36-68 carb. I commute to work and ride around. I spend a lot of time at 60 or so mph. 15/39 gearing.

Back tire is wearing fast......

How does the 15/39 do at highway speeds? I went with a 16/42 and can do 80 indicated at 7k rpm. (if there is any wind though its rather slugish) I just think the 16tooth cs is too big and want to go to the 15. I'm also still just a 250 but the 351 is being installed this winter!

Since a couple asked,

The 15 tooth is perfect for me. I get 61 mph indicated at 6,000 rpm with almost no vibration. With the 14/39 the engine was closer to 7,000 rpm and vibrated pretty good.

Also I wanted to try and keep the MPG up since I went to the bigger engine. Bike has tons of torque even with the 15/39 in 6th gear. I LOST the ability to do throttle wheelies in second gear.

With the 250 and 14/39 I could not use high gear in a strong head wind. Now It pulls in high NO problem even with the 15/39.

It was just a try it thing, and now the 15 tooth stays.

6,000 Rpm = 61 mph
7,000 RPM = 71 mph
8,000 rpm = 81 mph
Thats all she's got. I have seen 89 out of it once.
Speedo is off 7% according to the GPS. Odometer is right on.

Now to pass a car when I am going 50 or faster, just turn the throttle, no need to shift. It zooms right by em. When I pull back in, I am doing 75 to 80.
