Talking Future klx owner question

About to jump the gun and get the klx 250s last night from chaparral but unsure due to my height. I'm slightly vertically challenged at 5'4 . I'm planning to get a lowered seat. I think it would work. Any of you have this awesome ride within my height? Rep recommends the yamaha xt250 but I like the kawi better. I will be planning on riding this 90% on trails.
I'm new to dirtbike. Just bought a used crf150 rb and felt in love with the sport after 3 trail rides however I would like a dual sport so I can ride all year round. Btw I'm in socal and lake arrowhead and silverwood lake is around 30 minute ride

Whats your inseam? That will tell more than your height. My inseam is 32, I have no problems.

On the kawi web site, look up 2009 klx250s and they have a video intro for the bike. There is a guy on there that said he is 5-2 and had no issues all day at the press launch. Have you had a chance to sit on one?

You can lower the suspension an inch with links and sliding the fork and keep stock geometery, then shave 1/2 inch off the seat and your ready for the trails.

Welcome to KF

Us short F'ers need to stick together. The inseam height as mentioned, and proper suspension setup.

+1 to above.
If it doesn't work as is, may need lowering links to start (not difficult), reset suspension correctly after installation. If that doesn't get far enough, maybe shave some foam off the seat.

A few guys here have removed the stock seat cover and used like an electic knife and shaved the foam to a lower profile. Then stapled the cover back on and you've got a lower bike for almost nothing.

My wife has the lower seat on hers, she's 5'3" and about a 29 or 30" inseam and has no probs on the KLX250 with stock suspension height. She can't flat foot but she's quite comfortable with her left foot firmly planted.

I'm 5'7" with a 30" inseam, and running 1.5" lowering links. I can almost flat foot both feet at the same time with my boots on (they probably have 1" thick heels).
