pretty funny man... I miss the power band sling-shot effect I gotfrom my two stroke but I certianly don't miss having to look for a fricken tree to park the bike against every time we stoped.....[sm=headbang.gif]

Yea in 1980 I had a Suzuki RM80 that I boughtat a garage sale from a kid that raced for $65.00. The shifter was not engaging so I bought it and pulled the cover off and a spring inside had come off. 5 minutes later I was screaming down the road doing 60 mph. I was in 10th grade and probably weighed in at 180 and that little bike had more power than the KLX, either that or the 2 stroke just felt like it.

In high school my buddy had a KX80 and his friend had a 400EX quad and the KX would just dominate the Quad both in accel and top end. It was pretty funny to watch him rip across his field though, the bike was so small and he was like5'8", it was just like a cartoon, all you could see above the dust was his shoulders.

I dont have much experience with 2 strokes either. I bought my daughter a 50cc 2 stroke last spring. She can (at 6) run circles around her brother on his KLX125L. Every kid that has riddin it so far has ended up on their backs at some point. Not sure I could handle a large 2-stroke after seeing her bike run. She slowly gets up to about 10mph then takes off like a rocket. Still scares me watching her. She loves it but I think a much more sane 4-stroke is in the near future.

I had an 82 RM465 that thing was something. If you ever get a chance to ride a big bore 2 stroke go for it but be careful. I miss the power.I rode an Kawasaki H2 750 triple 2 stroke when I was young thats another expierience I wont forget.

yeah my dad told me a story that he go to ride a friends 500 2 stroke and he could never get the front end to come down. he had hlf his body over the handle bars so it would not flip on him. back then they did not have sound reg. it had no pipe on the back just header. the rear tire would make trenches. it sounded like a blast.

I've ridden/raced 2 strokers for years and there is nonthing like it. In fact I have an RM 250 that I am thinking about converting to a scrambles bike and turning the klx into a pure street ride! Oh yeah 3rd gear power band on the RM lofts the front wheel quite nicely.
