Fuel range problem
#11
Good idea re the tank breathers. Come to think of it when I tested the draining of the tank I did it with the gas cap open. Maybe I'll put some air to the breather lines just to be sure they are clear. The bike is practically new but it has seen some mud lately.
Deej... I'm all metric up here but I'll try and convert for ya. At about 80km(50mph) I think it was sitting at around 6000rpm. Not positive though. When I hit reserve I had 100km(62miles) on the clock. And there was almost 4L (1gal) still in the tank at that point. Switching to reserve got me another 20km(12miles) before it was all over. But I still had half a tank of fuel sloshing around in there.
Like I mentioned above I was getting about 65mpg based on distance and fuel used... the problem is the 4L still in the tank that I wasn't able to use. I should be able to go about 220kms(140miles) before the tank is fully dry at that rate.
I'm going to test neilaction's idea and go check my lines right now.
