1. I have never seen a warning light for low fuel
2. I ride 100% on the road, 45-60 mph to and from work
3. For a cold-start warm-up, I watch the tach. When it is steady at 4000 for 10 seconds, I turn off the choke, shift down to first, and ride away. For warm-start warm-up, usually the choke goes off almost right away.
4. I almost consistently go 100-105 miles before switching to reserve. Then I go another 35 miles on reserve.
5. My mpg is very consistently between 75 mpg and 82 mpg, depending on traffic, wind, temperature, and whether I'm shifting at 3500 or 4500.

why do you use choke for a warm start?

I agree I shouldn't have to use the choke on a hot start. But if I don't pull it out on a hot start, sometimes it starts right up and sometimes it does not--depends on the outside temperature. But as long as I have a consistent way of starting the bike, I'm OK with it. Cold starts--no problems. Even started the bike at 25 degrees out this morning!
