Default fuel needle vs. different jet

If the bike is running a bit lean, should I adjust the needle slot or put in a bigger jet? thanks, Brian

it all depends on where in the range it's running lean. is it down low? up top? does it stutter in the mid? be more specific. what are you running as far as mods go? we need more info to help you.

It's almost lean on the main jet, I'm just looking for some general advice from anyone who has experimented with needle adjustment vs. jet size changes and what changes they noted as far as which adjustment yielded the biggest or smallest change. I've rejetted to 124 dynojet, hiflo snorkel, dynojet needle on 3rd clip, smog gone, drilled exhaust 1/2" with two new holes in stock exhaust all the way back to last baffle.

Kawicat, if the bike runs fine full throttle in sixth gear. The main should be fine. If it surges, up one size. In third gear run it up to 8k and hold it there, If it surges, the needle is too lean. I still find the raised stock needle to be better than the N1TC.
