Default Fuel Mixture Screw

Hi Guys I was wondering why when I let off the throttle the motor always pops with the bike in stock form. I'm putting on my Big Gun and doing the carb work today I was just adjusting the fuel screw and it was tight was not turned out at all[:@]. I do beleave its supposed to be 1 1/2 tunrs from the factory. So you cannot just hope Kal has set anything wright . I am finding thing wrong with all of my bikes and Atvs that were just not set wright at the factory.
I put the quiet core in the big gun and its not near as loud as I thought it would be.
So anyway check the bolts on your bikes they might forget to tighten some of them to

Hey guys, I have plans for winter but would like to adjust the idle mixture screw now. Is it under the silver plug in the thing hangin' down off the front at the float bowl? (see the arrow in my pic). Yeah, when I bought my Suzuki Savage the misture screw was only out 1/16th...why bother? It ended up around 2.5 out, pretty standard for most carbs...

Yes it came with a quiet core insert and a spacer ring if you choose to use spark arrester screen and not the quiet core. I had to install it it was in seperate bags . I didn't start it with out the quiet core I might take it out to see how loud it is...... But its not loud with it. I have had some LOUD bikes and its not loud at all.

I have a Big Gun (not installed yet -- long story, will wait till it finishes before I post my ordeal), and it came with a "Votex" insert, not the "Quiet Core".

My understanding is the Vortex does about the same as the Quiet Core, but I read somewhere that it's not a good long term solution. The 15" Quiet Core is the better way to go for reducing the Big Gun sound level.

That's my 2 cents.

Mike

rkutzner,

I had a similar question earlier today in another thread. Kawi Wawi directed me to this thread on Advrider with several great pics of the plug over the fuel/air mix screw. This should answer your question, I think.
