Default Fuel bowl screws

So previous owner stripped them out and it's time to replace them. So what's everyone using to replace the oem ones with? Tried searching but couldn't find the info I needed figured this next fastest way.

Head down to the hardware store and buy some stainless socket head(allen) screws-problem solved...

I was not so lucky to have a hardware store that stocks m8 bolts... at least not stainless allen head. Had to go to a fastener supply store. The sizes are available on any oem parts page.

http://www.kawasakioemparts.com/oemp...7b9/carburetor

The number on the end is the length. They list three different screws for the carb. 4x8mm, 4x14mm and 4x16mm. pretty sure the 4 is what kawasaki calls the M8 bolt... or im completely crazy and its an M4 but I was pretty sure it was an M8 :P

One could easily line up the threads to double check

Looks like they are 4mm X 14mm long-anything close to that length should work.

Ace / True Value hardware often has a good selection.

I had a hard time finding them too when I looked. If anyone wants to buy and sell extras count me in.

Fastenal carries metrics too. I buy all my stuff there, they may or may not do by the piece, I know they don't on nuts, washers, and O-rings. I've also hit Ace when in a bind, but costs me more.

I do allen or hex heads over phillips (the Japanese version too) every time.

If you use stainless, don't forget to do anti-seize on the threads, they will seize up in steel, I'm not sure about zinc or aluminum, but I just don't trust the stuff. Bright zinc plated will work as well, that's what I use. Just don't use black oxide, it rusts when you look at it.

I found stainless to be impossible to retrieve with a magnet if I drop one and it's in a hard to reach spot. If the carb's off the bike then it may not matter; I used to pull the CV carb fuel bowl with it on the bike..
