Default Front Wheel Hitch?

I was driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles on the 5 Highway and noticed a small car pulling a motorcycle only by the front wheel with the rear wheel on the road. The speed limit is 70 mph, and the car was cruising along at around 85 mph through the highway and mountain curves. I was quite curious and kept following to observe. The bike was stable and cruising along behind without even a slight wobble. I found some online, but only found applications for 2" hitch receiver. Anybody know of any that are made for 1.25" hitch receivers for lightweight bikes like the KLX250SF?

Found Prohoist, but they only sell 2" reciever hitches: http://www.prohoists.com/shopping.idc?productid=35
Heard Hitchdoc.com might have something, and I contacted them and waiting for a response: http://hitchdoc.com/

The downside that I see to something like this is tire wear. I have an F150, so I just bought a set of ramps and put mine in the bed of the truck...

Harbor Freight sells an adaptor that may work.
Hitch Adapter - 2" Adapter for 1-1/4" Hitches

read a warning not to use hitch adapters...the car i saw was using a 1.25" hitch, so there much be a company that makes it...it would be nice to drop the moto off for service or repairs without worrying about rides...

Also you may want to take the chain off while towing.
You really do not want to be spining the output shaft with no oil circulating in the engine/transmission case.

Use a regular hitch carrier. I've even seen little Honda CRVs carrying bikes on those. Even a cheap trailer is better.

That front wheel hitch is hokey. Imagine backing up and the bike jackknifing hard. Imagine some yahoo behind you not seeing the bike in tow.

I guess it's sort of cool in a fred flinstone sort of way.

Seems pointless. The only time I trailer is to avoid wearin out knobbies on the way to the ride.
