Smile Frame Question

I noticed that on my 2007 KLX250, that the right side frame near the passenger foot peg has a slight curve to it, but the left side near the passenger foot peg is straight.

Is that the way it's supposed to be, or did I bend it some way?

If anyone can take a quick look at theirs, I'd appreciate it.

Oh man, please tell us that you didn't get the bike with the tweaked frame that has been floating around from dealership to dealership? That's why you always need to inspect the goods before you sign on the dotted line and take it home.

Just kidding, that's they way they are built, the one side accommodates the battery the other side the exhaust.

Nice.

I thought it might come that way because I don't see any paint crinkle and while fat, I'm not THAT fat.

I think I freaked because I tied the bike down using that as one of my three lateral tie downs.

To see what I'm talking about stand behind the bike and look forward and you can see the bend easily.

Good post, I've had my '07 since May and had yet to notice that little quirk. Saved me a question down the road....

Question Frame Issues concerning the factory

Geez, Lauren,

Where have you been hiding?? Hope that you've been riding instead of hiding, HA!

I was just called by the dealer, (08/19/08), that I bought my '07 from to advise me that I may have an issue that the factory wants so see my bike about. Seems to be some frame welds or something like that. They said it would be an all day job to check my bike for the concerns that they had. It would be an additional 4-5 business days to resolve the problem if I had one of the bad ones. problem is that I'm a long way from that dealership and am presently in California. Problem with that is that no dealers in CA have seen the KLX250S, 'cause it wasn't sold in th state until the 2009 model came out. Don't want someone that hasn't had the experience with the issue welding on my bike!!

Your comment reminded me that I ought to notify the forum of the issue... They may have heard of it already and can advise me on the matter.

Nice to see you back on the forum.
Best to you

What all did you end-up with from Moto pro, and how do you like it?

I just received their standard height supermoto system, but I'm waiting for them to send a couple of shims that somehow didn't make it into the fork valve kit...grrrrrr!...a very uncharacteristic blooper from them, but it had to happen to me!

On the positive side, I've learned one heckuva about suspension from John in the process.
