Frame Issue that concerns 2007 KLX250S
I was just called by my selling Oregon dealer, (08/19/08). I bought my '07 from the Salem, OR dealership. They advised me that I may have an issue that the factory wants so see my bike about. Seems to be some frame welds or something like that. They said it would be an all day job to check out my bike for the concerns that the factory had.
It would be an additional 4-5 business days to resolve the problem if I had one of the bad ones. Problem for me is that I'm a long way from that dealership and am presently in California. Problem with that is that no dealers in CA have seen the KLX250S, 'cause it wasn't sold in the state until the 2009 model came out.
Don't want someone that hasn't had the experience with the issue welding on my bike!!
Has this KLX250s issue hit the forum yet??? .. If so, I've been out of the loop for a while getting some new 'puter solutions! (Two of them died at almost the same time!!)
Best to you all!

Yeah, I remember that. Some bikes were coming out with the top shock mounting bracket only tack-welded in place...almost like somebody was forgetting a step.
I visually checked mine when I heard about the problem...mine was OK. It should be easy to tell whether they have run the complete bead or just tack welded...no disassembly necessary..just take a peek at the top shock bracket.
HOWEVER, I would confirm with the dealer that this is what he's talking about.

Thanks for your post, Doum.
I appreciated the information. I'll pull the saddle and see what the story is with mine. Can't imagine why the California dealership wanted a day to discover the problem and another 4-5 business days to fix it!! Guess they really haven't seen any of the 2007 KLX250S's.
All the best,
I'm assuming that the issue you have posted is the issue that they are calling me about.
