Four days...I'm pooped!
Our off road club had a big get-together this weekend. I went out Thursday morning and stayed until late this afternoon. I haven't done that much hard riding for a straight 4 days in quite awhile. The weather was great, and the soil was just that right consistency from a light snow and rain last weekend. We have about 90 miles of singletrack, and the state circuit enduro we put on here annually is rated as one of the toughest. The place is a hoot to ride. I rode with different riders and groups on different days and had a blast. I was the only guy riding an official DS bike with a license plate, but despite that, the KLX did great. Funny thing is how well this bike lays down its power with the traction it gets in loose, sketchy terrain. While the KTM's, CRF Honda's, and other real competition bikes could lay down the power on regular trail, my KLX would climb some of the loosest places with relative ease while they would stall out occasionally. This 300-jugged KLX is a friggin' tractor. I never regret revalving the fork and shock on this bike. I wouldn't even be able to ride some of that stuff without the improved suspension. And the stock CV carb?...there's something to be said for smooth power delivery when it's jetted properly...and fuel mileage continues to impress me even when flogging the bike.
This isn't a race bike. But it is one heck of an effective trail bike with a few mods. I'm not sure I'd be any less tired if I had been on a pure competition bike. In fact my KLX doesn't suck the life out of me trying to hang on to it all day like some of the race bikes. You go a little slower overall compared to the better riders on competition bikes, but they're not having to wait too long...and the KLX is good enough to pick off a few guys on much better off road machines.

Good for ya, TNC. I always thought TNC were your initials, but as I was thinking that you're kicking back having a tequila n coke to rest up for the next ride, now I know what your username is all about!
Ride on.
Ride on.

You're not applying any PBR self-mediating efforts, are you?

Cool that someone is riding somewhere. I seem too have lost my desire to go ride, even by myself! On a positive note I just received my new Michelin tires for the ST 1300, so I guess a trip to the shop is in short order to get them mounted and balanced.

He was a LNC , lucky nut case this last weekend. Looks like a great ride with some great weather.
I definitely need to be located farther west than Illinois
