Fork me!

How to set up the front forks properly with the least amount of stiction is in the service manual. When properly torqued, the triple clamps will twist pretty much every time you wreck. Or at least when I wreck LOL. I twist them back trail side then when I get back home I reset the whole front end up again with two pieces of long (36")rod. One rod through the hollow axle the other rod laid against the forward surface of the fork tubes up high so that I can sight down from above. By sighting down and seeing that the two rods are parallel to each other ensures that the fork legs aren't twisted. Then you torque the triple clamp bolts. Next tighten the one side of the front axle and pump the forks several times to get the forks parra to each other. Tighten the axle pinch bolts and presto, dialed in until the next crash :+)
