Fork guards

RE: Fork guards
94-95 have different guides than 96 up. The guards are all the same.94-95 KXs had 43mm fork just like the KLX (same shell, different innards & adjustable rebound caps). The guides fit perfectly with no shims, tight, & snap into plance in the grooves in the fork. I have some. In 96 up KXs had 46 mm fork that differs from the KLX alot more. This is why the shim is needed if you order 96 instead of 95.
Also, yes I know the diameter of the fork refers to the lower slider but you need a larger upper for a larger lower & thus the difference in the diameter of the guides.

RE: Fork guards
KLXer, I agree with ya on the differences. My "95's" maynot be 95's. They did snap in the grooves and appeared to fitsnug when I first installed them but they ended up turning some like I said on the trail, hence the shim. I did however definitely order 1995 guides. At the time I was going to do the KX fork conversion using 94-95 forks but ended up abandoning that project. Looking at it again though.
