flush mount signals

RE: flush mount signals
Unfortunately, the rear units which were bolted to the rack broke off after a few jumps. I replaced the front and back with smaller and much lighter LEDs. All four LEDs are lighter than one stock turn signal.
They have the same mount arrangement. In front, the lenses protrude just outside the faring and are protected by the handlebars in case of a fall. On back the LEDs are bolted into the plastic license plate holder held to rear frame with 4 screws. I rigged a quick disconnect for this holder and is removevable b/4 off-roading.
The LEDs work perfect and costs about $15 for two.

RE: flush mount signals
For a decent signal, check out Sicass Racing. I had some trouble with signals after I mounted my Akrapovic pipe - it wanted to melt any signal I put back there. The stock went first, then I tried some lower profile LED signals, and they went next. Then I tried Sicass part number 21-199:
These worked fine and are nice and bright. However, they were still in the exhaust past of the Akrapovic, so I did a little surgery on the talks and removed the "flex" portion, JB-welded the mounting bolt/sleeve into the remaining housing, and reattached. The result is about 1.5 inches shorter and it just clears the exhaust path so I think these are going to work:
So the score is Akrapovic: 3, Brian 1.
But they should also make for a decent lowish-profile, DOT approved, high visibility signal light without resorting to the button-lights.
