Default Florida Riders, it's coooler here than NY. Let's ride!

I have a thread in the East Coast ADV forum for a ride Saturday, Aug 5th. I know there are a few guys in FL on this thread. We're going to ride some of the back wood Flagler county fire trails and the Old Brick Road, about 55-60 mile dirt loop.

I'm riding my Dakar, Adam on the KLX250, and Crash777 is riding from Jax on his DR650. It would be great if we could get more to come along. We may extend our route to do some back road pavement as well depending on weather. There will be beer, sodas and food at my house late afternoon. Anyone who wants to join is welcome. Room for trailers, garage, have two spare bedrooms and bath, plenty of room for tents in the backyard. Meeting at 9 am Saturday, here's the thread:

If some of you guys are coming from South Florida, Gulf Coast or GA, you're welcome to come up Friday and spend the night.

Wow nice invite; hope someone is able to take you up on you hospitality. Heard food beer and room what about the gals

Nice pics btw, I was amazed when I visited Florida and saw roads that just cut through the jungle, could not see 10’ into the vegetation. Looks like some good riding though.

Welcome to KF and enjoy your stay, there is great klx250 following.

Sullydirt,

You have NO idea how much I want to join you. However, it has been almost 4 weeks since my last day off.

With the evening rains that we have had lately, my front yard is looking like some of the paths Nobrakes is talking about!

Unfortunately, I will have to take a pass.

Sully,

As you know, Marty and I are in the same boat.

I must admit I'm considered blowing off my responsibilities for this...

The Old Brick Road is located just north of Espanola, Florida.

Here's a map.

(forum seems to be in need of work! not all functions working right now!)

I'm kind of doing a wimpering sound about not going riding, but my wife is NOT looking at this the same way I am. The woman gives me a lot of slack, I really do need to get some things done around the house.

Of course, I do have your cell number and if things change in the morning, I'll call!

Kool, thanks for the map. It's a ways away from tampa but doable one of these days.

I would agree about this forum. Seems like I have to relog in everytime I use it and I have it set to use cookies, What a pain. Perhaps we need to create a Klx specific forum for our own use. I have a registered copy of VB forums which would work perfect but dont know if it would be worth the hassle of setting up.

That's an intersting link. I wasn't sure of the actual date it was built, I figured it was late 1800's. I noticed the author posted a picture of this sign:

It now has a sign below which reads "Drive at your own risk". I'll get a picture of it tomorrow. The last time I was out there the sand was pretty deep in areas. There were sections, where there wasn't any sand. I took a picture of one of the bricks and tried to google the name, but nothing came up.

Look at the slope:

Not sure about the Bhamala part, but the "Graves" part is from the Graves Brick Company:
