Flashers to fast

Flashers to fast
I got pulled over on the way to work today because the flasher lights that I installed with the tail light from wheelingcyclesupply.com, flashed way to fast. What's the best way to correct this?

Get a non load dependent flasher unit.
Cheap from any auto shop.
You need a 2 pin one and get the fully electronic version and not one that uses a bimetal strip.
The bimetal type are not totally load independent.

I added a cool relay that allows you to pick one of 5 flash patterns, and it corrected the fast blink. It plugs right into the flasher unit.
Just walked down to the bike and took this picture, but for the life of me I can't find the manufacturer on the web. Still looking. If I find it I'll post a link.

This isn't it, but probably similar. I only paid $20 for mine. I'll keep looking.

This one will work, sounds like the one I have. To set the patterns, all you do is hit the turn signal and cancel fast twice, and you hear a beep, and its set on the next pattern. To get back to a stock blink you do it three times real fast. I hope this helps. I don't like the idea of all the other stuff that looks like you have to wire in load resisters. This is plug and play.

The first one I tried was a real cheapie $A7.
It didn't last very long and it wasn't totally load independent.
I use 10w indicators and if one blew, it didn't flash the other one properly.
I then went for another one. $A17
This one works well and truly load independent.
For you Aussies out there, I got them from "Super Cheap Autos"
Oh, they dont just plug right into the KLX wiring.
You need to cut the wires and either solder or crimp the right connectors.
Or, do what I did and solder the wires directly onto the flasher unit.
