Yes, I started hanging around after TNC and I worked together on the prototype. Then my brother called to have me look at an 06 or 07 KLX for him that was near me. I test rode the bike and that was it - I wanted one. Felt like riding a mountain bike after riding the KLX650 for so many years. So I actually use what I make... actually on three Kawasakis. Kept the 650 from going bad again after two OEM units, took care of the hornet's nest sound from under the tank of my Zephyr, then my own 250. Been doing this to help riders keep their old and new bikes going fine for a bit over ten years now.

Quick question: the cap on the left side of the engine you have to remove to get to the crank shaft. Does that just unscrew or does the bike need to be in a certain condition to allow it to unscrew.
I just tried mine to see if my tool would be sufficient and it wont turn under normal pressure.

Often really tight. When I pulled the one on my KLXs I used a large diameter washer that fit the round bottom slot of the plug, clamped in Vise Grips to remove them.
They came out with no damage. I don't know if the engine was warm if it might help release the stuck plug.

I got the bolt.. what a ××××× that thing was. I'm definitely replacing it after this.
Anyway I just wanted to show the tool I made to get it out. Also had to have someone counter lean their weight on the bike so I could push hard enough. It looks like the guy in the video left the top bolt so I'm leaving that one alone.

Gonna be tough trying to pass off those coins! The top plug is where you see the timing mark. Use a washer, they're usually hardened. You could try warming up the bike a bit to see if the thermal growth of the side cover may help. Maybe a bit of WD40 on the plug.
Lay the bike on its side, probably nothing would touch that is any problem.
Actually if you turn the engine up to TDC with the cam marks aligned to the head as normal, the engine should be close enough to TDC to do the work. But I'd still try to get the plugs out... dominate!
