A First Hand Account of What Happened at the Flat Rock race in the 2009 NCHSA Series

That looks very cool, PE. I doubt I'd fare too well in the wide open desert stuff, though. I definitely don't consider myself fast, and a course like this last one is undoubtedly better suited for me where it's slower, but more technical and difficult. Probably one of the reasons I finished as well in the order that I did was the attrition rate. What I lack in speed I make up for in scrappiness. There were a lot of faster guys that finished behind me purely due to the difficulty of the course.
Definitely do it though. The feeling you get on the starting line is hard to describe, not to mention how fun the race itself is.

Apparently I did well enough to earn a trophy in this race. Sweet!

Excellent read! Thanks so much for taking the time to do this write up. I'm a bit of a lurker here, and I just now came across this post; I read half of it on my coffee break, and I couldn't hardly wait 'til lunch to finish!

Hey thanks, HF. I just reread it after you brought it back to page 1. Makes me hurt just thinking about it. Man that race was brutal. I have my trophy sitting here on the desk, though, lol. Who'd a thunk 10th place in a local amateur hare scramble would be so satisfying, haha.
