guess I'm thinking of MX'ers. didn't realize those bikes were so underpowered. I figured they were the MX engine's power adjusted for terrain and style. Now I don't feel so bummed that my '09 only makes a smidge less than them race bikes. I stand corrected.

But the point is, these bikes will smoke the KLX.
You can re-jet, de-restrict, and put what ever pipe you like on it and it will not come close to any "modern" 250 enduro bike.
That's why I think 27HP sounds wrong.
And that's also why I take my 26HP, with all my mods, not too seriously.
I think the WR250f will still have more power.

Hmmm.....so we are back to 21-22 hp for a 250 klx huh....lol

At least you are not claiming your seat of the pants nitrous opines of 28 hp like you did with your old 06......or did you

You got any more insults to dish out. Well?? lol.

I would suggest that manufacturers claimed HP at the crank is not actual HP at the rear wheel.

I will weigh-in and say that the gaudy numbers I got with the stock jug are still hard to believe myself...even though I did runs on two separate dynos.

I'll also repeat that I've seen two D-trackers with same intake, carbs, jetting and exhaust have a 3-4 hp split on the same dyno. That leads me to think Kawi has QC issues on the assy or with individual parts manufacturing...whoever does that for them.

Still, what I was seeing on my dyno runs with the 250 jug didn't feel near as much from a seat of the pants perspective (butt dyno).

I also think that they (Japanese) are somehow doing dyno runs differently over here as most results seem to be at least a couple of ponies higher that what I've seen in stateside runs.

I could be that the they are not correcting the temp and P.A. to standard day (15C/59F@sea level).

Jesus after all of this arguing you mean to tell me the WR only has 2 more horsepower. Stock. For 2 thousand dollars more. Pretty exspensive horsepower.

Damn I gained 2 horsepower just getting rid of the damn pea shooter exhaust. And another 2 by drinking a 6 pack before I ride.

And what the hell is with the tourque peak at redline I'll bet that's alot of fun running through the woods at redline all day! whoppee!

I don't care what anybody says the KLX is a damn fine trail buggy, well at least the 06,07 is,you know, the ones that actually have some suspension travel under them.

God I'll be glad when winter gets here and I can get the real horsepower winners out.

None of this 30 - 40 horsepower ****.

Man I'm alittle late to the party but I knew the muffler king would chime in with the 09 makes the most power.
I'm getting close to dynoing mine but I 'm doing it for a baseline and then after the big winter mods absolute#'s I could care less I'm looking for numbers under the peak curve and length of time there.
