Hmmm, and yet another advantage of living in a small town of 4500, I know all the cops, and the 3 Sheriff's here, they all know that the bike is legal.

I've been riding bikes since I was a kid and on the roads since the 80's and still signed up for an advanced cycle course on saturday. From what I have heard they teach and put you in different situations for emergency braking, steering and slides. When I talked to the instuctor,he said he hasn't had any dualsports there yet so it's going to be something new for both of us.I talked to my insurance company and they said my rates will drop with the card, but I only pay $195. a yr for full coverage anyways and the couse is one 8hr day for $80.

That's pretty cheap, they want $250 for the safety course here in AZ.

Ask around there should be some subsidized classes for $125.00

I got my motorcycle endorcement when I was 16 (16 years ago) but it is still very cheap and very easy to get in AR. A friend of mine from Germany just got his and the trooper giving the riding portion of the test saw him ride into the parking lot and park. He said that was good enough for him and signed off.

I am a prosecutor here in AR and I am so glad that I dont have to work traffic court anymore. The judges didnt like it but I never saw the point in fining the crap out of people.

Okay, I'm going to the DMV tomorrow to take the AZ motorcycle "instruction permit" test which will legally let me drive during daylight hours, but not on freeways or highways. I guess after riding more than 20,000 miles over 10 years without one...

It says in the manual to "avoid add-ons and modifications that make your motorcycle harder to handle" - Yeah, right!
