The last ticket I got for that was $170 something, but I got another $300 of tickets on top of it for other fines. I never had it impounded though.

I crossed a double yellow line to go around some gravel, that was $240 and the fine for no DL was $242. $185 for the impound yard and the city needed $100.

I ended up paying almost 600 after trafic school , Oh that was $40

It's so hot here that the DMV closes the motorcycle testing facility down if it's over 105 degrees!

I took the motorcycle safety course before getting the bike. It cost $150, it was worth every penny, and it included the driving test. Much easier than getting fined for not having a license, and I'm pretty sure it saved me another kind of headache. The course taught me to keep my head up and look where I wanted to end up when going around corners. Before the course, I had a tendency to watch my front tire when cornering. Shortly after getting my license, I was accelerating through a corner (roll on, just like they taught me) with my head up (just like they taught me) when suddenly I discovered a minivan stopped in the road. Had I been using my old habits, I would have watched my front tire run right into the van. It was much easier to get a license back in the '70s. I'm glad they make it a little harder now. I'm really glad I took the safety course.

Yep I heard that too, it's always better to do things right before things go wrong.

Here in N.Y. I think it was $20 bucks for the written test and the road test was $10. they tell you the road test is free but when you renew your license with the new endorsement on it they charge you 10 dollars. The total is $30, a small price to pay. The written androad test was real easy. These bikes are not a "blend in" kind of bike they Stand Out and grab the attention of the police so you are likely going to get pulled over on these bright green machines. So far I have been pulled over 3 times on the KLX and I was doing nothing wrong. They just wanted to make sure I was all legal!
