Default Finally!

After way too long I finally picked up my 07 klx250s tonight. Went on a cold cold late night ride with one of my bud's then came back to our shop and ripped off the following: Front and rear blinkers(not required in NC), rear license plate bracket, rear rack, buddy pegs, front reflectors, seat strap, tool bag and the chain guard. Gonna install some renthals and my handguards early next week, then hopefully get my sprockets in soon after. Overall Im happy with the bike I just need to set my suspension up and derestrict this thing. Its obvious it has more than it gives in stock form, im just hoping the mods will be as great as everyone says!

A quick question.... Does anyone know what the idea of the seat strap is??

So far I just put my gloves under it, but other than that it really puzzles me everytime I look at it...

Hey Hardtaco,
Congrats on the bike, I picked mine up today as well, keep us posted what you do as far as de-restriction, my dealer told me they had already de-restricted it. They said it was a carby mod. I'm sure a better pipe would let this baby breathe. I however have a bigger issue concerning, after riding only about 15k's, I noticed a fair bit of oil inside the bash plate, did you have any that you noticed, has me really concerned as I have booked in to go riding tommorrow.

Cheers.

Chris.

The seat strap is for a passenger, i knowin PA the passenger has to have something to hold on to by law, but i dont see how a passenger could when its under your ***..... mines been wayyy gone.

The seat strap is there to add insult to the injury that brick of a saddle already causes. Instead of two nasty abrasions along the cheeks, you also get a nice indentation as an accent stripe. Other than that, it's worthless. Unless your passenger is a bronk rider, she'll grab anything but that if you try to pitch her off.

Most of us unbolt them first thing. (at your own risk of course) Adds at least .7 HP...

The strap works great for carrying a base ball cap, just tuck the bill under the strap it keeps the hat from flying off if you need to stand up for some reason.

actually the seat is very soft compared to most bikes and i use the strap to pick up the bike in the trails and move the backend around when i get in a sticky situation and stuff like that.
