What have some of you guys done to remove that ugly black rear fender on your bikes? I'd prefer not to chop so much, so show me what you guys have done!

 

I've seen guys put the KLX-300 entire rear fender on their 06/07 bikes and install an Edge (or similar) taillight. I think that looks sexy as hell on the older bikes.

 

Just removed the whole thing. Got a replacement rear lens with the clear window in the bottom to illuminate the number plate. 3 bolts and some rubber discs to isolate the plate/fender from vibration. Used an adhesive rear reflector (not shown) to keep it all legal. Plus the mandatory bends in the plate so it isn't ripped off while in tight terrain.

 

Where did you get the replacement rear lens? Got a pic of it? I just might take your advice on this fender chop, oz.

I used a Baja design led lite/plate holder. It's supposed to go under a more mx type fender but on the stock fender I thought it was still to low so I mounted it on top between rack and fender. Sorry bout the poor quality pics it looks a lot better in person.
