Thanks for the caution on the spigots/intake bells. A call to Jerry is in order prior to any ordering of parts. Mike

2k1w=no$ - you posted those images for me in a thread on this forum quite a while back....

I'm totally in agreeance with you though in regard to caution, hence the note in my post about my bike being an Australian spec, with possibly different airbox and intake boot sizes.

However, it's not hard to break out the calipers and size the OEM CVK diameters on the inlet and outlet and compare with the items I've listed. In the Sudco catalogue available from their site there is a table showing all the different airbox adapters and spigots, along with their dimensions. It's just a case then of taking the measurements from your pictures and from the CVK and finding the correct matches in the catalog.

I've bothered to state all this because my FCR came from a Stroker KLX300, so *had* already been modified by Jerry. Given Jerry's a difficult person to contact, I'm hoping this info published on the forum helps other people source the items they need to fit their FCRs up to thier KLXs.

KB thanks for all the info, and your aus bike specs to consider.

Has anyone tried the R&D power pump on the fcr35? No more need for the taffey mod w/ the adjustable leak jet/bolt on part? Sounds like a great mod...

I am experimenting with one right now. With the FCR35 you do have to drill out the brass "plug" and remove the ball and spring in the fuel bowl so the fuel has a place to return. If you don't do this it has no adjustability and will be like the stock pump. This is not in the instructions because it was not designed for the FCR35 style carb. The brass screw also sticks out and will hit the header. I cut mine a little more than in half and cut a new slot in it. I have gone on one ride with it so far and the bike seemed to run very well after some very minor adjusting. I did have one problem. It was "sweating" a little fuel around the screw, but not enough to interrupt the ride. I will have to investigate this. The only thing I can think of is the rubber O ring did not seat properly after I had the screw out to cut it down.

Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of that. I may tinker with it this weekend and if I do I will take a pic. I'm not up on posting pics to the net but would be able to send them to an e-mail address. If you have your carb off take a picture of the inside of the fuel bowl and I can point out what needs to be removed.

AgoosS how close is the power pump sump/bowl to the starter motor? How close is the leak jet adjuster to the exhaust header?

inquiring minds would like to know, thanks Mike

I have a 2001 KLX300, so I don't have a starter to give you that comparison. I wish I had the magic button. The pump bowl is about 1" where the stock pump bowl is about 1/4". I didn't take a before measurement, but I probably cut off about half or more of the screw head to give clearance for the header. My picture is blurry, but the hole in the upper right corner, where the gasket makes a circle, is where you have to drill out the brass "check valve". Underneath it will be a tiny ball and a super fine spring.
