I often think about buying a 2 stroke, Like a CR 125 or a 250. I just miss that hard hitting, out of control, power band and the smell of 2 stroke exhaust. But the only place to ride it would be at the local track and I just don't feel like going around in circles all day..
There's street legal two-smokes out there, I just saw this link on the adv site for example

2005 KTM 300exc 2-stroke dirt bike in great condition with rare Wisconsin title (street legal). 2,400 miles. Original owner. Excellent mechanical condition. I have always used Mobil-1 full synthetic pre-mix oil @40:1. Clean air filter and transmission oil changed after every ride.

Extras include: KTM factory blinkers, dual-sport mirrors, 3.5 gal. Clarke gas tank (original included), EE skid plate & bark busters. $3,800

MAN... that thing would be a blast to ride around on....I often wondered ifthe D.M.V here in N.Y.would give me a hard time registering a bike that has been convertedto street from another state. Would they honor the new title?

My 300 exchas dual sport kit and I also got a set of 17" rims. I just got it. There is to much snow to ride it yet, so I just left it at my other house(up north). I can't wait for the warm weather but I'm enjoying riding the new sleds.

I dig the yamaha fZ6. I think that would be my "dream other bike". R6 engine minus the lower back pain and sore wrists. I am a big fan of the japanese 4 cyl's of the 70's and 80's (Kawasaki KZ, Suzuki GS,Honda CB (like EMS's),etc.) The FZ6 sort of reminds me of amodern version of one of those.Of course, all of the other bikes that have been mentioned are cool as well.

Or maybe wait as I think Honda is coming out with a new version of the CB750, I saw a pic in a bike magazine, but couldn't find it on any Honda sites yet...it's sweet too.

My next bike will probably be the new Triumph street triple, very nice bike and I miss my sportbike. I like riding on the street too but not with the klx. I'll keep my klx for the trails and ride a triumph for longer road rides. If I had no limit I would probably own:

-Triumph tiger
-KTM 450
-Honda CBR600RR
-Ducati Monster
-Suzuki Boulevard M109R (I like those kind of sport cruiser bikes)
-Can-Am Renegade 500

Thanks for letting me dream a bit...

Those naked triumph triples are gorgeous, and priced reasonably too!

i won't list all the bikes i've had but i have had every catagory of motorcyle there is. i love my current ride(electra glide) but the most fun bike i ever had was an sv650s. not a lot of power but an absolute hoot to go out and rip it up on. boy did i love that bike.[]i might just go out and pick up another one for the hell of it.

My 1980 XT500. Just for the joy of pure thumpy goodness; a single piston, two wheels, a seat, a frame, and a gas tank. What else do you really need?

Well...
A (used) Harley with some cornering clearance would be nice for those longer road trips; FXDXT Dyna Super Glide T-Sport...

Of course I would need a 2008 KTM 690 Duke for ripping the twisties and urban assault...
