why pay $323 for that when the header is the real culprit or at least most of the problem on the 250? It's the header that drains most of the power from the bike to begin with. Someone earlier said the header is perfect- far from it my friend. If you're gonna plunk that type of dough down on a poser slip-on, might as well add another $100 or so and get some real power and not just noise. Be it Muzzy or BigGun, it's gonna make tons more power than just a cheap slip-on. If you DO insist on going with the slip-on, I'd recommend buying the $140 FSW header pipe as I've heard it is the cream of the crop if you're buying your exhaust in pieces. Now you all know what I recommend and why. My question is why install a slip-on just for noise as it's not gonna net you any noticeable power, at least not like a full system. Just my take.....
a) Happy with the power but want save some weight.
b) Happy with the power but want a nicer looking pipe.
c) Happy with the power but want a bit more noise.
d) Like doing your own thing.
e) Don't like either the Muzzy or the Big Gun.

How's that for starters?

Live and let live.

Life is like running with scissors.
It's all fun until somebody loses an eye.

Cheers

mmmmm

It's about now I'm caught between responding to the amusing comment from EMS_0525 or to the purile small minded comment from IOWAGUY. mmmm What to do next?

At this point I wish I had the composure of Brian or deej or any of the other "gentleman" who frequent this forum.
They avoid confrontation and use this forum to exchange ideas and, dare I say it, be entertained.
Their comments are inciteful, funny, educational, helpful and, to me anyway, very useful.

I wish I could be like that. But I can't so bear with me boys and girls.

And this is where I digress.
IOWAGUY is not any of the above.
I find his input to be unimportant and some what annoying.
His bias so obvious as to be embarrassing.

He talks about power like he could even spell it.
errrrrrr If power was the main aim we would all be on the latest mega euro thumper.

Please don't confuse Brian's constant tinkering with his pride and joy with an absolute quest for power.
I suspect, and correct me if I'm wrong Brian, but it's more about enjoying the benefits of owning a bike with potential.
Enjoying the experience of modifying.
And, thank you, sharing his experience with us.

You see IOWAGUY, it's about the journey,
If you don't get that then, in my humble opinion, you have no place on a bike.
Not even a Z50. (I have had some of my best experiences on an XR75).
(And when your 10, that's POWER)

There is an upside.
Given your heart is not really in it, it won't be too long before you move away from bikes altogether.
Move onto something else.
Something like, mmmmm let me think mmmmm, (trying very hard not to offend anyone)
mmmmmm IDEA.

Lets run a pole. What IOWAGUY will do after bikes. Too controversial? We will see.

Anyway, I feel better now.

Note to self, don't go on line after a hard day and 6 beers.

Cheers

Oh, and before you get all agro with me IOWAGUY, don't bite off more than you can chew.
