I doubt if you could do that since there are nuts welded to the stock pipe so that you can install the heat sheild.

Unless you have a welder, then yes, you could even bolt a armadillo to your pipe if you wanted to.

I actually kinda like that pipe wrap, gives it that really, really old school look to it.

Yea well I'm already old lol but I know I could get those nuts welded on the new pipe.

Hey Deej. I took the heat shield off of the stock pipe and put it on the Muzzy. I used a hose clamp. Works great. I thought it might look kind of hokey, but unless you're really looking for it, you don't even see it. I haven't melted/burnt my pants since I put it on there-pre heat shield, I was burning my jeans and melting my waterproof riding pants.

The stock heat shield is only temp until I get this sweet little ##. Kinda spendy, but no worse than the exhaust wrap.

Excellent, but I think I would like to get the 3 small stainless nuts welded on by my machine shop friend, that way it looks like its supposed to be that way.
