Default EXhaust Systems

I have been off riding for several years due to health problems but have decided to treat myself to a 2009 KLX250S and want to trick it outtarting with an exhaust system.

I would really appreciate member feed back on these questions:

Which system and why do you like it
How loud are aftermarket systems - I don't want to sound like a 16 year old
Rejetting necessary

Thanks

Rik

The new Muzzy designed specifically for the 2009 is supposed to be even bigger than before. I wonder if it's even bigger than the Big Gun.

On average a full header and muffler replacement should sound about twice as loud as stock. Though there are some claims that this new Muzzy system is 2 dB lower than it's previous KLX300/250 system. I'm hoping it's around 90 dB.

Mine is in the mail. Once I get everything tweaked right I will take a recording from a high quality microphone/camera setup and put it up on the web. I'll try and get it one of those free filesharing sites. This way, those with decent sound setups can get a good quality sample, rather than a very downsampled youtube POS. I am also searching for a good deal on one of those cheap Radioshack Sound meters. Not as accurate as some other units but it's better than nothing.

Muzzy and BigGun are full exhausts, 2-bros. is just a slip-on. full systems equal max horsepower. buy a Muzzy or BigGun and be done with it. but get the KLX300 Muzzy as the new one is big and unproven and may melt turn signals.

Hey Rik, it was nice talking to you on the phone yesterday. I hope I was able to answer the questions you had, and I look forward to perhaps getting a ride planed someday. Peace, and welcome to the forums.
