good point...but i've definately done my share of black top, when i was breaking it in for instance, never noticed it...but i also didnt have the aftermarket exhaust either so who knows. I'm sure now that you've mentioned it I'll notice it [X(]

Would've thought slow speed riding would cause you to linger in the exhaust fumes more frequently...
Guess the low pressure zone kind of makes sense though - I just find it sort of hard to fathom that at such turbulent wind speeds that there's a cloud of exhaust following me around the highway.. lol

I agree with the low pressure zone but you guys are probably running just a little bit rich as well.
If you could see a rider/bike in a wind-tunnel I'd bet my right arm that the exhaust exits the pipe and swirls around the back of the rider before dissipating into the boundary flow and of course this would be a relatively continuous cycle so long as you are moving, depending on wind conditions.
Have you ever noticed how well you can smell a tiny cigarette; even if the driver is quite a ways ahead of you?
