After 3-weeks I'm back in the saddle and man it felt GREAT!
Nice clear day in the low 60's. I took it for a quick spin to Home Depot to get some fertalizer. The ride home was even more fun since the weight of the fertilizer on the back had me unexpectantly pulling the front tire at green lights. God I love this bike!

10 days in the hospital 4 days on a respirator, bruised lung, broken ankle, dislocated both shoulders and collar bone compression frac three vert, and lost my spleen, and a couple of stiches in my knee.

My KLX was responsible for:
A UC ligament tear in my thumb that required surgery and 6 months off
A dis-located shoulder while ice-riding - ER trip to pop out and a couple months off bike
Another UC ligament tear in my thumb that required another surgery and another 6-9 months off.
And just yesterday I was riding with the guy I sold my KLX to and he flew up and off his bike, then came down on the gas tank/handlebars directly on his cajones.. He was out of commission. He was laying on the trail spitting for a bit then had to just go home. hahaha

My wife likes to ride off road but from time to time she takes a soil sample. The third pic is her on her first ride after she had to get an ileostomy, we figured out she could ride with an ileostomy bag. Yeah she's a trooper

In the summer of '05 while racing motocross I dropped the front end off a big double and cartwheeled down the track breaking my neck and back. I shattered my C4 and compression fractured T10. I had the fragments of C4 removed from my neck and replaced with a titanium cage. I was in a neck brace and back brace for a good 6 months. I wasn't comfortable getting back on a bike again until April of this year when I got my klx. I will likely never ride a motocross track again, but I did go to a supermoto track day at a local kart track earlier this year and was jumping all of the tabletops in their dirt section. It was a bit nerve racking at first but I was having a blast after awhile.

I broke an ankle and needed surgury on an elbow after a truck pulled out in front of me. The ankle was healed and strong enough after 8 weeks or so but I still had to do repair to the bike.
After the physical healing you must decide for yourself if/when you will ride again. I got asked a lot while still in a cast if I would ride again. For me it was never a question but each is different.
