1.3 L (1.4 US qt) no filter change
1.4 L (1.5 US qt) w/ filter change
1.5 L (1.6 US qt) when engine has had no oil in it at all.

10/40w is fine.

I change oil every 1000 miles. Do a oil & filter change every 2000 mi.

Cheap insurance.

I use the Fram CH6015 and Valvoline 10w40 4-stroke motorcycle oil because that is what is readily available near me. The Fram filters always come with a new o-ring too, which is nice. Just follow the specs in the manual for the oil and you will be fine.

Oil every 1,000 miles and filter every second oil change is a good rule of thumb, but I've found that my transmission will 'tell' me when if it's time to change before then.

I know it's a Kawi but the Honda shop is a lot closer. So that being said I use a Honda 15410-kF0-315 filter and Honda HP4S 10w30 synthetic oil and I change both every 7-800 miles (I know it's overkill). Hopoefully 10w30 is ok to use because they dont have 10w40 in synthetic. Now I just have to change the oil in my truck because I have no idea when the last oil change was.

Hey, I got some oil and a oil filter today.. Sadly I couldnt get 10W40 oil so I got 20/50.. And I got a Original Honda Oil Filter which is identical! Cost only around $8.. And the two litres of oil cost $11 (Dont worry I used only about 1.4l) hehe.. Sounds ok right?

Just make sure you use motorcycle engine oil, because they have the correct friction modifiers for the clutch discs. I use the honda motorcycle oil, because its a few cents cheaper than the Kaw oil. Also, I did my first change at around 80 miles, and now I've got around 350 miles on my bike. I will do my next change at 450-500 miles. I figure I will go with a routine 800-1000 miles afterword. But hey, thats just me, I'm an oil changing freak.
