Currently I'm an inventory management associate for the local Home Depot, I handle the price changes, on hand counts, and ordering for the electrical and garden departments. That's a combined total of 13,000 items in the two departments. Makes for a full 40 hrs/wk of constantly working. My schedule shows two 15 minute breaks and an hour lunch, the only thing I get to take is the lunch I have no time for breaks. However I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and just landed a job with a local engineering firm, starting the 24th I'm their newest junior engineer/mechanical designer. Check em out at www.lga-intl.com I work for the Massena, NY branch but the home office is just across the border in Canada. Currently our office deals mainly with ALCOA and coming up with solutions for safety issues, sourcing parts for updating their HVAC systems and emissions systems however all the paper work has been completed so now we can take on projects for the town instead of just in industry.

My job pales in comparrison to some of you guys here. I'm a CNC machinist at the "no. one world wide" power tool company Sthil Inc. Its a decent place to work with great benefits, plus I can machine and weld parts for the KLX or whatever else I need. On my own time of course, never on company time.

I would love to learn machining. I've often considered getting one of the smaller combo lathe/mills. I'd need to clear a place to keep it though. They're kind've heavy I've been thinking about something along the lines of this:

Of course, I've been eyeing one of those up now for about 5 years. Eventually I will do more than window shop. In the meantime, a buddy of mine has a similar machine and occasionally makes parts for me, which I greatly appreciate.
