Electrical Problem: HElP!
Hi guys, I have a new to me 2009 KLX 250 SF that I've been riding around for a couple months. Well I hadn't ridden it in a few weeks, so I tried to start it last night, it turned over a few times and then the battery died. Oh well. So I put on the trickle charger overnight and went to start it again today. Bike turned over a few times, and then there was kind of a pop and the bike went completely dead. No lights. No dash. No nothing. I checked the fuses, they're all good. Battery is putting out 12.9 volts. I even tried hooking up another battery, nothing. Could the starter solenoid have fried? Would that kill power to everything?
Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the forum.
Does your bike have any inline fuses or molded fusible lnks in the wiring?
Some obvious things to check: Kickstand switch, Tip over sensor, Clutch switch, Kill switch, Transmission gear switch.
Keep us posted as to what you find out.
Cheers,
Greg

Sounds like something major. There are fuses around the battery and/or battery box. I know you said you checked, but it doesn't make any sense. If the fuse isn't blown, check you have 12v at the accessories. You can tell which one blew usually.
Now for the decision, are you going in after it, or take it to the shop? The fuse isn't the problem. I would check the battery - to frame connection though first. Read from the battery to the frame somewhere.
No, the starter solenoid is it's own thing, it gets power from battery.
