Default EFM Auto Clutch

Well.....after hounding Rekluse for an auto clutch for the past 5 years I decided to throw in the towel with them and I gave Garry at EFM a call last week. I packed up my clutch assembly and sent it to him. Hopefully I will have it by the end of the week, or possibly next week. I will give a full report when I install it, and give you guys my first impression. There will be NO manual override, it can not be done with the KLX clutches( I asked Garry).

Believe me when I tell you I tried in vain to get Rekluse to build a clutch for the KLX....(I've been a Rekluse dealer for over 10 years)..but no such luck.

Nope, no manual over ride. I thought it would be a problem too.....until I rode a Honda XR400 with the EFM clutch in it with no manual over ride. The bike worked great! It took about 15 minutes to get used to the fact that there was NO clutch lever. The traction was amazing and I never stalled it, even in the most slick conditions I found traction. Riding in tight single track was fun instead of hard. I can't wait to get it in my bike.

The cost is on the EFM website. I believe it's $625.95

Hi

I installed the EFM or my 06 2 years ago it has been great. Other then changing the oil
there has been no adjustments or maintenane at all. I have my KLX set up as a mini
ADV bike. I did a write up on the fourm, I guess you can look it up. Hope you enjoy the clucth as I do.

Ok, I finally had a chance to try out the EFM clutch on my KLX today, and all I can say is "I LOVE IT"!! I did about 120 mile ride of about 40 miles of street and 80 miles of trail, whoops, tight single track and poweline trails. It took a little while to get used to the fact that I no longer had a clutch lever( found myself looking for it). The EFM auto clutch works just as good....if not better than the Rekluse auto clutch. It made technical root/rock infested trails a much better experience....never stalled it! I never had any problem up shifting or down shifting either.

All I can say is this...........if you live in and ride in an area that is rocky/root covered/ with lots of elevation changes with is a MUST have item.

PS I stand corrected from my earlier post about the cost....it's not $625....it's $695.99 plus shipping.

Nice update.
Are you going to install a Left Hand Rear Brake (LHRB)?

Good news.
What about the extra width? Do you feel it?
