Default Easy diaphram install, no water needed.

I found the best solution to installing a stretched diaphram on the stock carb. A few minutes ago I was having a melt down trying to get the darned thing back in. So I started thinking, should I use rtv? No thats wrong. Buy a new one, I can't wait. What the hell were people doing with hot water? I don't remember. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. Since the engine uses vacuum to operate the thing If I stuck the shop vac hose in the air box snorkle what would that do? Well i tried it and couldn't believe it was actually working. It pulls all the stretched out excess into the carb and can then be easily manipulated into place without any headache. The hardest part was shoving the hose in the snorkle wich wasn't hard at all.

That's a cool tip. My DJ Kit instructions say to put it in hot water immediately. I like your idea better.

No sure what all the fuss is about. I've has the carb' out on numerous occasions and have yet to experience any problems getting the diaphragm back in palce. Could it be a slide thing? Down here the slide is alloy and not the plastic type i've seen on models from other countries.

No. Just a rubber peice that expands naturally.
