Yeah you lost all the gas in the carburetor plus whatever was in the lines. I know I ran out of gas alot faster the ride after rejet. There will be a loss in MPGs... I went from 80 MPG to 65-70 depending on how hard I ride.

Thats why I gave the SIZE of the bit to use! I have done it to mine and if you do a search on here for slide drilling you will see this is correct! Do a little research befor jumping the gun...

I'm running 132 and 40 and I hit reserve at 60 if I ride hard, or 80 if I keep away from 8000 rmp's. But where is the fun in that?

My loss in mpg was like 3 to 4 mpg. But I ride it like a bandit too. And almost always 75 to 80 Mph on the freeway. I usually get 60 or so.

I usually hit reserve @ 80 to 90 miles from a completely full tank.

As for the smog lines I took all of that crap off (as others on here have done) plugged all the lines on the air box, the one on the head for air injection (companies make a block off plate for this), there are three on the tank (other than the two fuel lines @ the rear), the first one is a needed vent that must be open (lets air into the tank as you use fuel) (this line could also be ran to one of the now vacant air box holes that were for the air injection stuff so crap does not get sucked into it), the second needs to be plugged, the third is a needed drain tube that should be ran like it was to the swingarm area (drains spilled fuel when you are filling the fuel tank).

I highly reccomend drilling that slide vent hole out that is next to your needle hole with a 7/64" drill bit, it significantly increases throttle response. I also took off my air box when I did the slide and cut all the screen out of the air box too for better flow. The combination of these two mods made a very noticeable difference.

I put the Dynojet kit in too when I only had the slip on and the filter and I installed it to the stage two specs. Now I have the slip on by Two Bros., FMF Power Bomb, No-Toil filter, Screen removed from air box, Slide vent hole drilled to 7/64", Smog crap removed (which lowers exhaust temperatures and sheds a little weight). All of this makes the bike flow alot better which leaned the bike out and would cause it to kind of miss at higher rpms 7000-8500, so I had to put the 132 jet in along with move the E clip on the needle down one notch and turn the air screw out a half turn.

Your altitude will determine your setup but use the plug color and generally how your bike is running to help you figure it out.

I strongly reccomend doing all of these mods, I am very impressed with how well my bike runs now compared to stock and even how it ran compared to the slip on and jet kit only.

If you have any questions feel free to ask, thats why we are all here. And thats how I learned a few bike specific stuff that was a huge help.

Thanks a lot slippery! Well, the first ride on the hills after the carb job was like 45 miles constantly right before the red line. The throttle response is so much faster!

This bike is so nimble in the corners that I lost a couple of bigger sport bikes along the way in the twisties.

I'll try to keep it up and do the other mods you just suggested. Thanks for sharing these!

Btw, I just found out a cool web site with a lot of mods specifically for the KLX.

I'm seriously considering these items:

ZE87-7106 Billet Gas cap
D45-18-714 Edge tail light kit
D47-01-323 Radiator Red hose Kit

Yeah thanks, thats where I bought my Edge kit, I got the smoked lens but I sugest you get the red lens cuz the smoked is not very bright. I took theirs off and completely built my own. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

Check out what this guy did.
