RE: Dynojet Kit
ORIGINAL: Kawi Wawi I bought the Dynojet kit because it has extra mainjets... I guarantee if you buy just one mainjet you'll be thinking to yourself "is this main too rich or too lean"... Well with the Dynojet kit, you have 4 jets you can play with... And to confirm what marc11 said, the KX250F kit is NOT correct. Get the KLX300 kit #2206. https://www.kawasakiforums.com/m_67995/tm.htm Match your altitude and mods to others on this thread and you can get it right. They have done all the hard work for us. Heres something to show how a CVK works http://members.aol.com/roundr1/CVK40.html |
RE: Dynojet Kit
Most mods do not require a new pilot jet and from what I have read the jury is still out. General rule is if you need to turn the mixture screw out more than 3.5 turns go up one size in the pilot jet, less than one turn go down one size. Right now, I am at 2.5 turns so I am fine.

Heres something to show how a CVK works http://members.aol.com/roundr1/CVK40.html Also, many of us modify in stages, jet kit and airbox first and then exhaust later, for many reasons, some financial, some just like to ride the bike, make a mod, ride it for a while and enjoy that mod then modify it more, ride it for a while. To each his own. When I added it up, the difference, with the KDX snorkle was only a few dollars. I chose to run without the airbox lid and thus, the overall price difference was nill and I have everything I need (and instructions) for when I add an exhaust. |

RE: Dynojet Kit
generally, when you remove the airbox lid the bike runs like dog crap. if you don't want to buy a new snorkel, just remove the oem one and enlarge the hole. it's easier to tune if you tune it with some type of cover over the airbox lid. i went to a 128 main and left the pilot stock. this worked perfectly for me, but i read someone elses mods before i went in. so all the hard work was done for me. if i go big-bore kit, i'll have to go to a 132 main more than likely. do yourself a favor and buy the individual jets. if you don't, you will have no reference point to compare to with others because as i recall, no one ever talks about dynojet carb parts on here.
also, i never said the stock carb parts were better than the dynojet kit jeep, i said it's easier to refer to those sizes since more guys run these factory parts than the dynojet kit. i never have liked dynojet kits. i bought one for my sportster and used two jets, the rest of the kit has sat for over 3 years. i could've saved probably $60 and just bought the main and pilot when i installed my screamin' eagle air breather kit. live and learn. |
RE: Dynojet Kit
Im at 2 turns (koubalink) and #40 pilot, #128 main, 2cnd notch, drilled slidewith uni filter, kdx snorkle, smog removed, nobrakes crankcase breather and exhaust and mine runs like a spotted-ass ape with no bogging or backfiring whatsoeverso Im happy.
You guys run whatever you like...makes no difference to me whatsoever. |

RE: Dynojet Kit
Thanks all for the info, I am glad I have found a place that is willing to give my noob ass advice :)
I think I'll order the kit, because I will be doing the exhaust later on, so I should have all i need for that .. Again couldn't ask for more in the way of advice. Thanks guys. |
RE: Dynojet Kit
just know that before you order that any posted advice on here will more than likely not help you out in terms of ballpark estimates for jetting since, in my presence, i've never heard anyone discuss trying to dial in a carb using dynojet jets. they are NOT the same as keihin jets in terms of size. this could be beneficial once you try and get it right because it is not easy to dial in a carb. but the already posted info on here makes it more helpful, but if you order the dynojet kit that info is useless to you. i just want you to look at all horizons before you click your right button. i could care really, but you being new you need to know how it is around here. it sucks to be left out in your garage at 1am with your carb all tore apart and not knowing any idea what size jet to put in. jmo
