There are two dynojet kits that work with the KLX250s.

2152 and the 2206

Both work on any 2006 or newer bike. The 2206 is listed for the KLX300 ( which is the 250's off road brother ) and the 2152 is listed as the 09's and newer but will work.

Moose kits are just rebadged dynojet kits.

Does either kit give you multiple jets, so you can rejet with the stock muffler and rejet later should you decide to add a more free flowing muffler?

The 2152 comes with about a 1/2 dozen jets. Don't know about the 2206.

If you go to the Dynojet website and look at the PDF for each kit you will see it actually tells you what size jets come with the kit. I think mine came with 5 main jets - it does NOT come with any pilot jets, only mains.

If I recall correctly it does come with smaller jets to be used with the stock muffler (assuming you are at sea level) - but don't quote me on that, check it yourself on their site. The supplied PDF on the site is actually the same as the piece of paper that comes with the kit telling you how to install the jets etc too, so it's worth taking a look at it.

Yeah, both kits come with different size jets. Pretty much all the ones you need for most any level of mods.

My best advice to you is get the high flow air filter, hi flow snorkel (or no snorkel at all), muffler and jet kit and install them all at the same time. Trust me, it gets old quick changing out jets each time you mod.

I would go all the way, but don't want a loud bike. Is the Megabomb & Q4 much louder than stock?

No, the megabomb knocks a few extra decibels off the noise. So couple that Q4 and it is pretty mellow. It isn't quiet, but it isn't loud either. It is right in the middle ground and it sounds good. Been on lots of 4 hr rides without earplugs and the exhaust didn't bother me one bit. Doesn't wake up the neighbors in the morning either.

So yeah, it is a little bit louder, but not much. But it makes your bike sound like it is supposed to. It doesn't sound like a sewing machine.

I'm about to purchase a kit as well. Best price seems to be JCmotors at under 50$, unchanged for a few years now.

The 2152 kit is for the 2009-10 bikes and is labeled as a stage one or two kit. Stage one being, stock or K&N air filter and no airbox mods, stage two is the same except a removed snorkel. Both stages are supposed to be good with aftermarket exhaust. This kit includes a replacement spring for the slide.

The 2206 kit is for the klx300. The kit is a stage two only and the dyno graph shows more top end gains. No lid on the airbox. This kit involves drilling the slide hole instead of a replacement spring.

I am leaning to the kit designed for my bike since it has a consistent and linear dyno graph, includes the spring which is reversable, is both stage one and two, and is made for my application. Dynojet isn't dumb, they must have a reason for using a new kit for the 2009. You are trusting their intelligence on other things. My plan is to run stage one mods with stock airbox system until/unless I go to a new exhaust/kdx snorkel and then I'll rejet to stage two.

Oddly, the 2206 kit tells you to use 2.5 turns on the pilot screw but the 2152 kit says three turns.

Boo! The JCMotors site sharges 49.60$ for the kit PLUS 12$ shipping. Amazon costs 55$ to my door. Here goes nothing.
