Default Dyno results, I'm happy!

Finally got around to putting the KLX and Husky on the dyno recently. The 630 has been a little aggravating (very lean) but I'm tickled with the KLX. All the KLX reviews I've read made me expect 17-18hp but I'm making a little over 20hp. Woohoo! The only mods I've made are turning the fuel screw out 3 turns and adding an washer under the needle. I think it's a little lean on the main but since we're going to the San Juans and Moab later this summer don't think I'll mess w/ it.

Very cool and interesting. I guess my seat of the pants made me think that torque would be a bit less linear and peaking a little lower.

Nothing wrong with those numbers at all.

You may have gone over it before and I'm sorry if you have but can you tell me about your ancillary lights?

What size main jet are you using and does it pull through all the gears?

Stock main jet.

Pulls were done in 4th gear. Bike runs fine in all gears though.

That is amazing that you got that much power. Do plan on doing other mods?

So... this is stock, except for turning the fuel screw out 3 turns and shimming the stock needle???

I'm confused. I thought the stock bike was 17-18 HP. DynoJet claims you can pick up 8% with air/jetting/pipe. You picked up more than that with a shim and a couple turns of a screw?

Not that I'm complaining or anything... Just trying to understand the mods and the numbers.

Very nice, but I see a little over 20, not 21. Am I missing something?

EDIT: Never mind. Havenīt noticed the postīs been edited.

Ladies, the number is practically meaningless. A dyno is a tuning tool. Unless there is a number (stock bike/modified bike) to compare to, on the same dyno, the gross HP doesn't really represent much, and different dynos will give you different readings.
